Also included are parents. names, addresses, birthplaces, occupations, race, ages, and number of living children. The name of the physician and date the birth certificate was sent to the Health Department are also provided. Arrangement is chronological with dates in some volumes overlapping.

Patient records are exempt from the provisions of the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, and are restricted from public access [Mississippi Code Annotated (1972), § 41-9-67 & 68]. Access is by permission of patient or by court order [Mississippi Code Annotated (1972), § 41-21-97].
