      This series contains Proclamations issued by Governor William A. Allain during his administration as Governor of Mississippi. Also includes writs of election. In addition, there are correspondences to and from governors or their officials pertaining to certain proclamations passed that might have elicited reactions from the public or interested parties. Arrangement for the proclamations arrangement is solely chronological.

      Please make a note that while the Executive Order folders are accurate, there may be a few order numbers missing despite the range given. Since Proclamations and Executive Orders had to be manually separated, it is possible that you may find some of these orders hidden away inside of the Proclamation folder with the same date.
