Series 1349: Photographs. 1938-1984.
Department of Archives and History (RG 31). Information and Education (SG 6).

Contact sheets, prints and negatives of pictures in a photograph file maintained by the Information and Education Division of the Department of Archives and History. Images include staff, special events, historic sites and buildings, prominent state and national figures, archaeological digs, and other subjects. In general the collection is arranged by subject and wherever possible, all images on a particular subject have been foldered and boxed together. By their nature, it was not always possible to group contact sheets and negatives separately by subject, however, so researchers should be aware that they may have to search multiple folders to find a particular negative. Negatives are usually foldered with their corresponding prints and contact sheets, but this is not always the case.
