A collection of policy and procedure manuals, reports, plans, studies, bulletins, memoranda, and historical information about the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) and its successor agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). These materials came from the Department’s Division of Family and Children’s Services, so the preponderance of material concerns child welfare and foster care. While there are a few photocopies of items dating from as early as the 1940s, the bulk of the series dates from the 1980s and later.
