      General highway maps annotated to show the highways and roads that were constructed or maintained with federal aid highway moneys. The state wide maps show route sections and numbers for federal aid primary and federal aid secondary routes.

      The maps dated 1926 form part of an atlas issued by the federal Department of Agriculture that shows federal aid routes in every state (although California is missing from this atlas). The maps dated 1950 were prepared for and grouped by Highway Commissioner’s district, whereas the remaining maps are arranged alphabetically by county or city. Also included in the three Commissioner’s District county map packages are state wide traffic flow maps for 1949 and 1950 (see also Series 1615: Traffic Volume Maps), and a state wide 1950 map of the route sections and numbers for federal aid routes.
