Two separate account books maintained by the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi State Penitentiary. They primarily consist of mercantile accounts and lists of employees of the state farms and the penitentiary, with their corresponding positions and salaries. Accounts of other expenses, such as those for construction and prison farm drainage, are also included. One of the books spans the years 1916 to 1920, and the other dates from 1920 to 1924.
