Microfilm copies of registers listing convicts. The registers contain such information as prisoner name, number, nativity, race, education, physical description, criminal history, occupation, religion, when received in the penitentiary system, and various other remarks. The earlier volumes (Books D through M) are arranged in rough alphabetical order by last name of prisoner. There is no order to the convict numbers in these volumes. The later volumes (Books N through A-R) are arranged by convict number. Researchers should be aware that the convict numbers are sometimes out of order, and also that some dates overlap between volumes.
