      Photographs taken by employees of the Mississippi Highway Department, covering a wide variety of topics (see list below). Most of the images document the construction of roads, road drainage structures and bridges in the state. Construction equipment used and scientific experiments conducted are also documented. Other images include urban and rural scenes, highway scenes, tourist sites, historic homes, industrial facilities, and aerial views of towns and highways. Most of the photographs are in black and white, and are identified.
