     Photographs of Health Department facilities in all eighty-two Mississippi counties. The series consists of two photographic scrapbooks compiled in 1951 and 1976 showing Health Department branch offices and clinics located in the counties. In addition to the scrapbooks, there are also a few loose photographs, negatives, and newspaper clippings about facilities

     The photographs have been removed from the scrapbook pages and are arranged in the order in which they appeared in the scrapbooks. Virtually all the photographs are identified. In the 1976 scrapbook many of the photographs also include the year when the building was constructed. Photocopies of the original scrapbooks have been made and are boxed with the photographs.

Series 1692 Photograph Listing Data Elements

The original print photograph listing consists of the following data elements:

Photograph Item #:
     Sequential number assigned to each photograph by the archivist. This number is written on the back of the photograph preceded by the series number (Example: 1692-1, 1692-2, etc.)

Counties:
     County code for the county in which the image was located.

Location:
     The community identified in the image.

Description:
     The title of the building as identifed on the photograph.

Date:
     The majority of dates are the scrapbook dates of 1951 and 1976. However, when the date of the building's construction was listed on the photograph, this date was used in the table.

Box #:
     Number of box with in which the photograph is housed. See contents listing (above) for box location.

Folder #:
     The specific folder within the box in which the photograph is located.

Color:
     The color of the photograph is listed as either "b" for black and white or "c" for color.
