Kuhn Memorial State Hospital scrapbooks covering the years 1920, 1945, 1952-1979. The series consists of scrapbook pages of newspaper clippings pertaining to the hospital and its employees. In addition to the newspaper clippings, there are also some photographs, promotional flyers, medical newsletters, and a 1920 certificate of appointment for a Trustee to the State Charity Hospital in Vicksburg. The scrapbooks chronicle the history and activities of the institution.

HISTORICAL NOTE

In 1956 an act of the Mississippi Legislature changed the name of the Mississippi State Charity Hospital in Vicksburg to the Kuhn Memorial State Hospital in recognition of a bequest from Lee Kuhn [General Laws of the State of Mississippi, 1956, Chapter 301, 359-398].
