Series 1779: Subject Files. 1924-1979.
Attorney General (RG 48)

Reference files pertaining to subjects related directly or indirectly to the work of the Attorney General’s office, i.e., information files arranged by subject. These files include newspaper clippings, published trial transcripts, correspondence, newsletters and pamphlets, laws, Senate and House bills and resolutions, legal documents (contracts, leases, deeds) and opinions. There appears to be an overlap with the general correspondence and subject correspondence, particularly during the administrations of Joe Patterson (1956-1967) and A.F. Summer (1969-1980). There is also a collection of files specifically marked “A.F. Summer, 1954-1979” which overlaps the larger collection dated 1924-1975.

Many of the items in this series are dated in the 1960s and 1970s, while a fair number of items are undated.
