      Photographs, postcards, clippings and illustrations of public school buildings located in the majority of Mississippi counties. The series consists primarily of photographs and negatives of school buildings. Most of the buildings are identified and dated. However, it is not always clear whether the date written on the photograph is the date the photograph was taken or the date of building construction. A few of the photographs are of a miscellaneous nature. In addition, the series includes a small number of postcards, newspaper clippings and illustrations of school buildings.

      The photographs and negatives have been matched and are boxed separately. Arrangement is by county followed by miscellaneous items. The postcards are boxed with the photographs within the county arrangement. The newspaper clippings have been photocopied and are foldered and boxed separately from the photographs.
