Series 1938: TEAMississippi Files. 1992-1999.
Governor’s Office (RG 27). Administration of Daniel Kirkwood Fordice.
Files pertaining to TEAMississippi, which was a grassroots initiative for passing legislation favored by the Fordice administration. The series is broken into three main groups, of which one, news clippings and publications, is self-explanatory. The other two groups are the (1) Capitol for a Day and Town Hall meeting files, and (2) general files.
The Capitol for a Day files document the “Capitol for a Day” festivities which Governor Fordice attended in Louisville and Columbia. The Town Hall Meeting files document the “town meetings” Governor Fordice attended in Jackson, Pike, DeSoto, and Union Counties. The general files consist of a wide variety of materials, including legislative agendas, incoming correspondence and internal memos, rally agendas, lists of goals, Truth in Sentencing petitions, flyers, Women Executives in State Government documents, and information on the Millsaps College/Constituent Services Internship Program, the 1995 tax cut, and the Governor’s School Task Force.
