Series 2005: Audiovisual Materials. 1975-1976.
Dept. of Archives and History (RG 31). American Revolution Bicentennial Commission (SG 7).

Films, audio recordings, and other audiovisual materials used to promote the bicentennial celebration of the United States’ independence. Charged with this specific task in Mississippi was the Department of Archives and History’s American Revolution Bicentennial Commission, which offered advice and educational/promotional materials to schools, churches, and other civic organizations wishing to get involved. For example, the 16 mm. films in this series were loaned to such groups on request, while the television commercials and radio announcements were prepared and then distributed as public service messages to radio and television stations. One of the films, “A Past to Honor, A Future to Mold” was produced by the Commission. Detailed contents list follows on page 2.
