Series 2164: Public Health Campaign Files. 1978-1998.
Health, Dept. of (RG 51).

Campaign files from the Office of Health Communications and Public Relations. Files include materials relating to events and projects sponsored or co-sponsored by the Department of Public Health to focus public attention upon a variety of health subjects. Events and projects included public information press conferences; state, regional, and national conventions; and multimedia public awareness and educational efforts. Materials in the files include press releases, press kits, convention kits and memorabilia, brochures, newsletters, audiovisual materials, research articles, correspondence, and notebooks.

In general, files are arranged alphabetically by public health subject. However, the audiovisual materials (with the exception of slides) are boxed separately. These are in a variety of formats (such as VHS and U-matic video cassettes, audio cassettes and audio tape reels) and cover a wide array of public health topics, including cancer, AIDS, SIDS, red measles, syphilis, smoking, teen pregnancy, and immunizations. An itemized list of the audiovisual materials may be found immediately following the box contents list.
