Minutes of meetings of the board of the Certified Development Corporation (CDC) and the Mississippi Business Finance Corporation (MBFC). Two previously operating entities, the Mississippi Economic Development Corporation and the small businessman's loan committee, were abolished effective July 1, 1983, and their authority, duties and powers were transferred to CDC, a public corporation pursuant to Articles 1 and 3, chapter 10, Title 57, Mississippi Code of 1972. The corporation operated as CDC from 1982-1989. Membership meetings were held every second Wednesday of July. Regular meetings were held every other month, unless the Board of Directors needed to make management decisions related to the servicing or making of loans by the corporation. In July of 1989, the name was changed to Mississippi Business Finance Corporation. An amendment was added to the by-laws in August of 1996 to change annual meetings to August instead of July. The minutes are filed in chronological order with the by-laws for both corporations located in box 19203.
