Files of certificates of public convenience and necessity initially issued to County Boards of Supervisors or County School Boards through the Agricultural and Industrial Board (A & I Board) and later by the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) authorizing the sale or lease of Sixteenth Section School lands to Counties and private industry for industrial development.
The folders generally contain a petition by the applicant to the Board of Supervisors, the application and finding of facts by the county or municipality for a certificate, minutes of the A & I Board or DECD granting the certificate, and a certificate of the Superintendent of Education of the County involved approving the sale or lease, as well as contracts and other legal documents.
Files are arranged by certificate number.
