      Mississippi Hall of Fame (HOF) materials, including the following items: two original newspaper ballots from the initial HOF selection project; nomination packets from voting rounds in 1981 and 1986; invitations to the official presentations of the portraits of Jefferson Davis in 1905, J. Z. George in 1908 and Lucius Olen Crosby in 1968; a printed guide to the Hall of Fame from 1935; an undated description of the appearance of the Hall of Fame from when it was housed in the War Memorial Building (probably dating from before 1950); a program for the official presentation of the portrait of Nellie Nugent Somerville in 1981; a “preamble and resolution” memorializing the life and career of Governor Henry L. Whitfield; and materials related to the ceremonial unveiling of James O. Eastland’s portrait on August 17, 1992, when it was presented to the Mississippi HOF. The Eastland items include a U-matic broadcast-quality video cassette of the presentation, a VHS video cassette copy, and a printed program. In addition, an online version of the video “John C. Stennis: A Life of Public Service,” is now available within the MDAH Electronic Archives User Interface in the Media Room. This video tribute was shown for the first time at Stennis’ Nov. 17, 2002, HOF induction ceremony.
