Series 2365: Press Files. 2003-2005.
Governor’s Office (RG 27). Administration of Haley Reeves Barbour.

A small set of files containing press releases, news articles, correspondence and other materials which were collected or generated by Kathryn Stewart, who held the various titles of Deputy Press Secretary, Director of Public Affairs, and Public Relations Director in the Barbour Administration. Main topics include tort reform, Medicaid, education funding, and Governor Barbour’s “Operation: Streamline” budget plan, though many other topics are also covered: bill signings and other public appearances, VIP visits, “damage control” activities by the Governor’s communications staff, media relations, etc. Internal memos, emails and notes make up a substantial amount of the files, though external communications (those with any person or organization outside the Barbour Administration) are also numerous. The bulk of the material in the series dates from 2004. Arrangement is alphabetical.
