Letters requesting Senate confirmation of members of various state boards; copies of a bill of complaint and trial brief from a 1962 complaint filed by A.L. Meador, Sr., et al., against James Meredith, et al., in Jones County Chancery Court concerning Meredith's admission to the University of Mississippi in 1962; and fractional correspondence between the secretary of state and the lieutenant governor, who was president of the Senate. Also included are original and copies of state election returns for the presidential election of 1960 and gubernatorial election of 1959.
