These map atlases show the different classes of highways and major roads and the Federal Aid number for each. Roads are generally color-coded by hand and are classified as interstate, principal arteries, minor arteries, or major/minor collectors. Atlases dating 1975-1981 are part of a study of road classifications. The atlas dating 1970-1990 is part of a national highway functional classification needs study.
