Files pertaining to the renovation and construction of public buildings to ensure compliance with title II of the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act. Although the bulk of the records concern the renovation and construction of public schools, files on community colleges, state correctional facilities and hospitals, and police and municipal courts are also present. Records consist of memoranda, correspondence, building specifications, architectural plans and plan addenda, and are organized in alphabetical order by county. Files for Carroll, Choctaw, Jasper, Lawrence, Pontotoc and Winston counties were empty on arrival and have not been retained. Oversize plans from Alcorn, Hancock, Hinds, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lee, Pearl River, Prentiss, Rankin, Tippah, Union, and Warren counties have been separated.
ACCESS NOTE Access to architectural drawings of state buildings is limited. Application for access, with justification, must be submitted to the Director, Department of Archives and History, or to the Director of the Archives and Records Services Division. |
