Series 2695: Attorney General's Office Civil Rights Material. 1958-1965.
Attorney General (RG 48)

      An assortment of civil rights cases and related material transferred from the Attorney General’s office to MDAH sometime prior to 1979. Although it is not entirely certain if these files were created collectively or by one individual, Assistant Attorney General Dugas Stands is mentioned in parts of the collection. Most of the materials are printed or bound decisions, briefs, petitions, and memoranda. Some legal research notes and memoranda from the Attorney General’s office is also represented. Mississippi cases are separated from Non-Mississippi cases on the finding aid for greater clarity. N. B. not all of the cases are complete copies with all of the transcripts, briefs, opinions, etc. for that case.
