Subject files created and maintained by John Rounsaville and Patrick Sullivan, policy advisors to Governor Haley Barbour in the areas of economic development, transportation, energy and the environment. The series is particularly rich in information on the rebuilding of the infrastructure of the lower six coastal counties of Mississippi after the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, especially water and wastewater systems.
The original files were organized in two different ways, and that order has been maintained here. The series has one set of files arranged alphabetically by topic, and another set of “county files” arranged alphabetically by county. Aside from that organizational difference, the content of the two sets of files is very similar. Researchers should check both sets of files to be sure of finding all the available information on a particular topic. Certain oversized items have been relocated to other boxes or map drawers.
*An accretion of 43 cubic feet was transferred to MDAH from the Governor’s Office and added to the collection in 2021.
