A small collection of documents pertaining to the Mississippi Crime Commission, an advisory body established by Governor Paul B. Johnson, Jr. Included in the series are the one and only report issued by the commission; a collection of exhibits (articles, lists, essays, etc.) for consideration by the commission in compiling its report; a few items of correspondence, a reference article, and two speeches. The speeches were delivered by Marshall Bennett, who was then serving as Executive Secretary of the Crime Commission, and by Dan Moore, Governor of North Carolina. The correspondence includes: a letter from U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, and a letter from Governor Nelson Rockefeller of New York. There is no specific arrangement.
