These records were found in the records of the Auditor and processed as a new series, although they contain records from the Quartermaster and Ordnance Departments. As such, researchers should also consult RG 9 for similar materials. Almost all the records are related to the efforts of the state to equip and provide for the troops raised for both Confederate and state service.
