Series 2961: Minority Business Program Application Files. 1999-2018.
Economic & Community Development (RG 76).

      This series consists of Certification Applications and Loan Program Applications submitted to the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office to receive Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Women Business Enterprise (WBE) minority business status and support under Mississippi’s Minority Business Enterprise Act Section 57 Chapter 69. Applicants are required to provide a significant amount of documentation in their applications, including: Executive summaries of businesses, business plans, work resumes, personal financial statements and statement affidavits, Affidavits of Certification Statements and Social and Economic Disadvantage, personal tax returns, social security numbers, financial balance sheets and projections, copies of necessary licenses, Bank Authorizations, proprietorship documentation, and copies of Articles of Incorporation.

      Aside from the preceding required information, a number of these files may also consist of commercial lease agreements, meeting minutes, appraisal reports, by-laws, and business declarations. Arrangement is by type of application file and thereunder alphabetical by business name. Please note that personal information, such as social security numbers, tax information (personal or business), and other personal information was removed from the files and shredded so this series could remain open to the public.
