      Final reports, meeting minutes, and community data and trends reports of the counties taking part in the Competitive Community Program. This program was “composed of in-depth community analysis, leadership development, and strategic planning that function[ed] together to build the capacity of local communities to compete in today’s economic framework.” Youth programs were conducted by Rankin County, Sunflower County and Simpson County. Forrest County and Lamar County are combined and placed under Forrest County. Beyond 2000 compares the various counties by using graphs and charts. The folders at the end of the collection contain general information about the CCP. Of particular use is the Community Guidelines Notebook found in Box 7356. The arrangement is alphabetic by county.

      The Mississippi counties not included in this program are Chickasaw, Clay, Coahoma, Greene, Hinds, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jasper, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Perry, Prentiss, Quitman, Scott, Sharkey, Smith, Stone, Tallahatchie, Tippah, Tishomingo, Washington, Webster, and Yalobusha.
