      Bibliographic index cards for works held by Mississippi public, school and private libraries that were printed in the United States between 1639 and 1876, created as part of the nationwide Early American Imprints survey. Many of the state’s larger, more prominent and/or institutional libraries were assigned codes beginning with MS for Mississippi to aid in their identification in the union catalogue of American imprints that was the project’s end goal. Unfortunately, because the only accessible legend to the codes appears to be incomplete, not all codes are accompanied by their corresponding library. Cards are organized alphabetically by library and/or library location, but the cards for each library are in no particular order.
