Highway Dept. (RG 55)
Bound volumes of maps (13-1/2" by 20") of the Mississippi River and other rivers in Mississippi used for reference by the Traffic and Planning Division of the Highway Dept. The maps were generally produced by the Mississippi River Commission in conjunction with the Army Corps of Engineeers, and are extremely detailed black and white drawings with red and blue highlights. Although these volumes are not annotated, there are occasional instances where a staff member has inscribed his name or marked the copy as belonging to the "Traffic and Planning Division." Also included, in box 12500, are variously sized individual Corps of Engineer maps used for reference and planning.
