State Treasurer Marshall Bennett’s files documenting his service on the governing boards of the Mississippi Business Finance Corporation (MBFC) and the Mississippi Development Bank (MDB). There are two major types of records in this series: meetings files and reference files.
The meetings files typically contain only agendas, minutes, and related documents pertaining to specific meetings of the boards of the MBFC and the MDB, arranged chronologically. Meeting files from 1999-2003 are complete, but documentation of those from 1994-1998 is spotty. Bennett’s handwritten annotations appear on many of these materials.
The reference files contain some minutes from earlier than 1994, but mainly consist of reports, resolutions, legislation, publications, and other reference materials that pertain mainly to the Mississippi Development Bank. They are arranged in rough chronological order.
