Series 993: Agency and Department Reports. 1967.
Governor's Office. Administration of Paul B. Johnson, Jr. (RG 27).
Consists of reports from agency directors in response to an October 1967 request from Governor Johnson for major accomplishments during his term of office. There are reports from departments, commissions, and boards; port authorities; universities and colleges; hospitals; and state-level schools. Almost all of the reports were written specifically to answer the governor's requirement, but a few agencies just responded with copies of their latest biennials reports. Notable omissions are the Attorney General, the Public Service Commission, and the Department of Archives and History.
In addition to the agency reports, this series also contains the following documents: "Economic Feasibility of Constructing a Northeast Mississippi River Port on Yellow Creek" in the Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District folder (box 2040) and "Miss. Plan for Construction of Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (FY66-68)" and "Miss. Plan for Construction of Comprehensive Community Health Facilities (FY68)" in the Mental Illness and Mental Health, Interagency Commission on folder (box 2039).
