Incoming correspondence to the office of the Secretary of State. Much of the correspondence during the nineteenth century concerns requests for certificates of state officials, copies of laws, blank commission forms, and election results. Land sales, the appointment of local officials, and charters of incorporation also figure prominently. By the mid-to-late twentieth century, the bulk of the collection is correspondence from the general public to the Secretary of State’s Office. The records are arranged by date.
