Series 116: Final Report. 1939. Work Projects Administration. Vital Statistics Project (RG 60).

Final report of the Vital Statistics Project, the purpose of which was to teach Mississippians about the necessity of registering births and deaths with the State Department of Health, and to complete incomplete or missing birth and death records filed between November 1, 1912, and January 1, 1928. This project should not be confused with the Vital Statistics Survey project operated by the Historical Records Survey project of the Professional and Service Projects division, which inventoried vital statistics records held across the state.
