Collection Summary: Research files cataloging the birds of Mississippi in the early 1940s. Each folder may contain: an area record with the township-section-range location and observer’s name; summary notes which include a description of the bird, migratory habits, food, and its economic importance; and a hand-drawn map of where the bird was observed in the state. The collection is organized alphabetically by species name. See the attached list for all species included.
