Series 201: Northern District Case Files. 1827-1856. Superior Court of Chancery. Northern District (RG 32).

Court case files (including transcripts, arrest warrants, sheriff’s orders, court costs, witness testimonies, deeds, and other related materials) for cases held in the northern district of the Superior Court of Chancery. Court sessions for the northern district were held in Columbus, Fulton, Holly Springs, Carrollton and Hernando, as well as in Clinton prior to the establishment of the Superior Court of Chancery in Jackson. The court cases in this series are primarily for the court sessions held in Clinton, but there are a few originating from other sites such as Holly Springs and Carrollton.
