Series 209: Public Affairs Office Files. 1968-1982; undated. Military Dept. / Adjutant General (RG 33).

A collection of material filed with the Public Affairs Office, which represents the military when dealing with both the media and community, and plays a role in military operations. A mix of officers, military members, and civilian and contract professionals often staff these offices. The office is led by an officer in charge of planning, executing, and evaluating public affairs programs, and it provides counsel and support for commanders and senior staff members. Documents in the collection may include: copies of legislative bills, newspapers clippings, press releases, correspondence, information files, troop lists, information briefings, Air National Guard Historian information cards, film commission movie scripts, and employer support of guard and reserve documents. 

This series also includes approximately 5000 negatives images, slides, and prints. The images show: events, training camps, award ceremonies, officer promotions, portraits, rifle tournaments, the 41st Army Band, and public officials visiting Camp Shelby and other facilities across the State. The photograph and negative envelopes and folders are arranged in numerical order.
