Incoming and outgoing correspondence of the Adjutant General's Office. Documents pertain to almost all aspects of statewide military operations including: letters of resignation, returns of elections of militia officers, company strength returns, uniform descriptions, courts-martial, the procurement of arms and equipment, and receipts of commissions by militia officers. Also included is correspondence between the Adjutant General's office and the U.S. War Department's Militia Bureau regarding information necessary to update and correct the personnel records of militia officers. Arrangement is chronological.
