Records related to disbursements from the Mississippi Groundwater Protection Trust Fund, which was created by the Mississippi Underground Storage Tank Act of 1988 to reimburse eligible tank owners for the assessment and remediation of environmental problems due to motor fuel release from underground storage tanks (UST). This series includes: correspondence, contamination assessments, trust fund applications, soil sample results, cost estimates, corrective action plans, invoices, monitoring reports, and site expenditure reports.  Files are arranged by each site’s facility identification number. A detailed table included in this finding aid lists all the groundwater assessment and remediation files. Within each box, folders are arranged in order numerically. Use the table to determine which box to request.  Alternate names are listed for sites that have records with multiple names for the same site.
