Court cases dealing with integration issues at Mississippi colleges and universities during the 1960s and early 1970s. The collection includes: court case materials (transcripts, orders, motions, statements, opinions, etc.), clippings, correspondence, memoranda, and minutes of the Institutions of Higher Learning Board of Trustees. Box 29344 contains materials on James Meredith and his efforts to attend the University of Mississippi in 1962, and the resultant rioting that took place on campus. Box 29346 is a miscellaneous assortment of cases, including those at Mississippi Valley State College. Box 6179 focuses on Charles Evers and the Alcorn Agricultural & Mechanical College.
