Collection Summary: This series consists of files on matching grants awarded by the Tourism Development division of the Mississippi Development Authority agency (formerly the of the Department of Economic and Community Development) to various cities, counties, and organizations in Mississippi to bolster state tourism; Files on grant awards canceled by the awardee and rejected by the agency are also present; and applications for grant funding by art, music, theater groups and individuals as well as municipal organizations as part of a statewide tourism initiative. Records consist of correspondence, memoranda, budget information, grant applications, draft and published promotional material, invoices, purchase orders, final reports from grant awardees, news clippings, scattered maps, published tourist guides, and other ephemera. Promotional VHS tapes cassette tapes, and DVD discs are also present. Also included are cancelled or withdrawn applications. Arrangement is chronological by fiscal year. Thereunder organization of some grants are alphabetically by name; others by grant number.

Access Restrictions: Arrangements must be made with an Image and Sound archivist to determine availability of equipment for viewing/listening and/or duplication of audiovisual material.
