Collection Summary: Grant files for money disbursed to private companies, universities, and individual contractors to perform energy efficiency and technical analyses on public buildings, as well as make general energy efficiency improvements. Some grant money was also given to law firms to aid the agency in developing appropriate legal documentation and forms to use with grantees. The grant program was administered by the Mississippi Energy and Transportation Board, which was merged with the Department of Economic and Community Development in 1988-1989, becoming its Energy Division. The Dept. of Economic and Community Development was subsequently renamed the Mississippi Development Authority in 2000. Files contain contracts between the Mississippi Energy and Transportation Board and the grantee, financial records pertaining to grant disbursement, and limited correspondence, and are arranged alphabetically by grantee.
