Collection Summary: These files concern the installation of energy conservation and operational efficiency measures in state, county, and municipal properties, as well as private institutions such as hospitals and colleges. The Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development would give grants to institutions that wanted to retrofit buildings to become more energy efficient. Institutions would contract with certified construction and engineering firms that would go through an approval process before work could commence. Not all projects were funded. This series consists of contracts and revisions, correspondence, faxes, forms, memoranda, and various other documents required by the agency. The series is arranged alphabetically by institution. Some files may include nothing more than a single document.
