Collection Summary:  In conjunction with the state’s Attorney General’s Office, the Neshoba County District Attorney compiled these materials as part of its prosecution in 2005 of Edgar Ray Killen for his involvement in the murders of civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner in Neshoba County, Mississippi in June 1964. The materials include copies of FBI memoranda, transcripts from the Federal trial in 1967, as well as correspondence and memoranda created by the district attorney in preparation for the trial in 2005. Researchers should also consult the collections from the Attorney General’s office listed below.
