BAKER (T. OTIS) AND FAMILY PAPERS


Biography:

T. Otis Baker was a lawyer from Natchez, Mississippi. He also served as captain of Company A, Tenth Regiment, Mississippi Infantry, and was wounded in the battles of Shiloh and Atlanta during the Civil War. Baker later served in the Adams Light Infantry.

Scope and Content:

This collection contains materials used in writing the book Rolls of the Several Military Organizations, Which Entered the Service of the Confederate States…. The remainder is primarily legal papers concerning clients of Baker. An alphabetical list follows, as well as a list of secondary topics contained in the papers.
