The title page of this volume is "'My Journal' or the Story of a Soldier's Life. Told by Himself". By W. P. Chambers. 1891. Kinterbish, Ala." The journal was compiled in August 1891, by William Pitt Chambers from a diary, journal, and notes made by him from March 25, 1862, to May 16, 1865. Chambers served as a private in Company B, Sixth Battalion of Mississippi Infantry, and first sergeant of Company B, Forty-sixth Regiment of Mississippi Infantry, C.S.A., and as ensign of that regiment. The volume is 21 cm. by 35 cm. in size and contains 194 pages.
