WALTHALL (EDWARD CARY) COLLECTION, ACCRETION

In scattered form, this accretion of the Edward Cary Walthall collection presents material from 1866 to 1917. Three letters written by Edward C. Walthall to James B. Walthall are the only items of correspondence. Newspaper clippings from 1888 and 1917 appear, including the text of Edward C. Walthall's speech in the Senate on the solution to the race problem in politics, delivered in 1888. Speeches offered in praise of Walthall following his death are bound in volume form to complete this addition to the Walthall Collection.
