A collection of 89 manuscripts, six newspaper clippings, and an illustrated magazine article on the Battle of Corinth. The manuscripts are the official papers of Brigadier General Thomas J. McKean, who was appointed temporary commander of the Post of Corinth on September 16, 1862, and commanded the Sixth Division of the Army of Tennessee during the Battle of Corinth, October 3–4, 1862. The manuscripts include McKean's appointments as commander of the Post of Corinth, his final report, field dispatches, general and special orders, casualty list, and reports of minor officers. The newspaper clippings cover the Battle of Corinth and extend to November 21, 1862. The magazine article, entitled "Corinth," is by Major General William S. Rosecrans—the commanding general at the Battle of Corinth—and appeared in the Century Magazine, 1886, pp. 901–918.
