Z 0373.000 Higginbotham (Prieur Jay) Manuscripts

Jay Higginbotham was born in Pascagoula on July 16, 1937, where he was educated in the public schools. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1960, be began his writing career. Mr. Higginbotham has written for newspapers, historical journals and has published various books, five of which deal with the French colonial period.

This collection consists of the handwritten manuscripts for the following three published works by Jay Higginbotham: Fort Maurepas, The Birth of Louisiana, c1968; The Journal of Sauvole, c1969; Brother Holyfield (1 Chapter), c1972.
