Typewritten copy (pp. 32) of the journal of Brigadier General Samuel W. Ferguson, Commander of Ferguson's Cavalry Brigade, Lieutenant General Joseph Wheeler's Corps, C.S.A. (Alabama and Mississippi troops), in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, January 1–May 13, 1865, and papers pertaining to his military service written in 1911–1912. Ferguson mentions interviews with Jefferson Davis during April and May 1865. A letter written at Greenville on August 3, 1904, is attached to the journal and explains portions of it.
